At Gearharts, we create confections of uncompromising quality, forging memorable combinations of flavors and textures with artisan craftsmanship. World-renowned Criolla Cacao from the finest Venezuelan plantations imparts our chocolate with unparalleled depth and complexity. We blend this premium chocolate with local sweet cream and pure butter, then add top-quality fruits, nuts, herbs, teas, spices, and liquors. Each piece is then finished by hand.

The Shops
Our Flagship shop and production kitchen are found at the Main Street Market,
416 West Main Street #C in historic downtown Charlottesville. VA.
Our newest shop is in Richmond, VA, at The Avenues
at Libbie and Grove, 306 B Libbie Avenue.

The Chocolatier
Tim Gearhart was trained in pastry at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park and has cobbled together a culinary career that has taken him from the Gulf War in Kuwait to a dude ranch in Wyoming to a castle in southern England with stops in fine-diningrestaurants along the way. Tim started Gearharts in 2001 and lives with his family in Waynesboro, Virginia.
